Unlike most health plans, Curative is transparent and forthright about the drugs we cover. We always seek the most effective and lowest cost options vs. chasing rebates from drug companies.
1. For biologic immunomodulators, Curative follows a biosimilar-centered policy. We prioritize the use of biosimilars, ensuring members receive effective treatments at a lower cost than high-cost brand-name drugs like Humira and Stelara. Our preferred biosimilar agents are adalimumab-adbm and adalimumab-fkjp (Humira biosimilars) and Yesintek and Imuldosa (Stelara biosimilars).
2. Paxlovid is not a covered drug unless a member is at high risk and over 65 years old. Studies have proven that Paxlovid is ineffective in groups that are younger or at low risk. (PLoS Med., January 2025; Open Formum Infection Dis., December 2024; J Med Virol., June 2023 and Expert Rev Anti Infect Ther., February 2024)

Curative’s MedAccess Program eliminates these barriers by providing open pharmacy access for essential, time-sensitive medications—ensuring members get what they need, when they need it.
Optional MedSwitch Program
Curative is offering an optional financial incentive to eligible members who choose to switch from a non-preferred medication to a preferred alternative. Preferred medications work similarly, are clinically appropriate for many patients, and are available at a lower cost. Discuss with your provider whether this may make sense for you and your medication routine and consult the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s guidance.
Participation is completely optional and decisions about treatment should always be made between you and your healthcare provider.
Members who choose to participate may receive a one-time financial incentive after completing program requirements.

You may be eligible if you:
Are enrolled in an eligible Curative health plan
Are currently prescribed a targeted non-preferred drug.
Choose to switch to Curative’s preferred drug after discussing with your provider
List of targeted non-preferred drugs currently includes: Descovy, Humira, Deferiprone, Norditropin Flexpro.
To qualify for the incentive, members must fully transition to Curative’s preferred drug. Fills for the non-preferred drug cannot occur during the qualification period. Only paid prescription claims are used to determine eligibility. Discuss with your provider whether this incentive is right for you. The incentive is issued once per eligible member.

Curatives Pharmacy Prior Authorization guidelines are reviewed quarterly by our Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. The P&T Committee is made up of physicians and pharmacists which evaluate the safety and efficacy of drugs on our formulary and approve any recommended PA guidelines.
