A PCP is the health practitioner you’ll see for most of your health needs. They are your first point of contact when you need care or advice. (For life-threatening or other serious emergencies, always seek Urgent or Emergency care.)

What does Curative Primary Care offer?

Accepted Answer

Curative Primary Care provides comprehensive healthcare services tailored to your needs, including annual check-ups, routine screenings, vaccinations, chronic disease management, acute illness care, mental health services, women's and men's health services, medication management, referrals to specialists, nutritional counseling, and lifestyle and wellness coaching referrals. Convenient virtual and in-person appointments are available from licensed clinicians. (In-person appointments are only available in Austin at this time.)

How is Curative Primary Care different from virtual urgent care?

Primary care providers focus on routine health maintenance such as screenings for cancer, vaccinations, and guidance on staying healthy. They can also manage chronic conditions (such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or asthma).

Patients experiencing a medical emergency should call 911 (or the local emergency number) immediately.

Are there any fees associated with seeing a Curative Primary Care physician?

Curative Primary Care is in-network for the Curative Health Plan. If you have completed your [Baseline Visit](https://curative.com/baseline) within 120 days of your plan start date, you will have $0 copay, $0 deductibles, and $0 for preferred prescriptions.

Curative Primary Care is designed to provide comprehensive healthcare, but there are certain scenarios where our services might not be the best fit. Here are some considerations:

Our primarily virtual practice will not be ideal for someone who requires frequent in-person visits, or someone with highly complex needs, where in-person visits may be preferred.

Our practice is not ideal for someone requiring a prescription of controlled substances.

Are pregnant individuals suitable for Curative Primary Care?

No. At this time, our services are not tailored to meet the specific needs associated with pregnancy.

Is Curative Primary Care available for individuals under the age of 18?

Yes, video is required for our services. We are unable to offer telephone voice-only care.

Can I see my Curative Primary Care Physician in person?

Texas members can see their Curative Primary Care physician, subject to their availability, in person at our clinic in the heart of downtown Austin. Call [512-881-2515](tel:5128812515) to schedule an appointment.There is no in-person option for members in the remainder of Texas and Florida.

I already have a primary care physician. Can I still see one of Curative’s primary care physicians?

You have the freedom to select any primary care physician you prefer. However, remaining within the network enhances the utilization of your benefits. Curative Primary Care is fully in-network and fully equipped to fulfill your primary care requirements or complement your current healthcare team.

You can communicate with your Curative provider through the secure patient portal. This functions like a secure email and is checked daily.
