As a Curative member, you have access to $0 therapy, psychiatry, and behavioral health care — no copays, no deductibles, no surprise bills. This guide walks you through exactly what's covered, how to find the right provider, and how to start using your mental health benefits today.
If you've ever put off making that first therapy appointment because you weren't sure what it would cost — or whether your insurance would actually cover it — you're not alone. More than 40% of insured adults skip needed mental health treatment due to cost concerns. With Curative, that barrier doesn't have to exist.
Here's everything you need to know.
What mental health benefits do I have as a Curative member?
Your Curative plan includes comprehensive mental health coverage designed to make care easy to access and free to use. Every eligible member gets:
$0 care with therapists, psychiatrists, and psychologists for in-network visits
$0 preferred medications, when clinically appropriate
Care Navigator support — a team to help you understand your options and find a care path that feels right for you
Virtual and in-person appointments, with flexible scheduling that works around your life
Coverage for individual, couples, and family therapy, as well as psychiatry and substance use support
This isn't a stripped-down behavioral health add-on. It's integrated mental health care, built into your core Curative benefits from day one.

How do I find a therapist or psychiatrist near me?
The easiest way to start is through Curative's Provider Search tool. It lets you search for $0 in-network therapists, psychiatrists, and psychologists — filtered by specialty, location, and availability.
When you browse in-network providers through Provider Search, you know upfront that you won't get a bill after your appointment. No guessing, no calling your insurance to verify. What you see is what you pay: $0.
If you prefer virtual care — which many members do — you can filter for telehealth-only options and get matched with a licensed provider who fits your schedule and your needs.
What if my therapist doesn't take insurance?
This is one of the most common frustrations people face when trying to use mental health benefits. Many great therapists don't participate in insurance networks — over a third of psychologists in the U.S. don't accept any form of insurance — and that has historically meant paying $150–$300 out of pocket per session, or going without.
With Curative, you have another option: the Curative Cash Card.
If your preferred therapist isn't in the Provider Search, you can nominate them to become a Curative Cash Card provider. Once approved, you can use your Curative Cash Card to pay the provider directly at their cash-pay rate. We cover the cost, so your care remains $0 out-of-pocket No reimbursement forms. No waiting. No friction.
It means you don't have to give up a provider you trust just because they don't take traditional insurance.
Do I need a referral to see a mental health provider?
No. You don't need a referral from your primary care doctor to start therapy or see a psychiatrist through Curative. You can go directly to the Provider Search, find someone who's right for you, and book an appointment.
This matters because one of the most common reasons people delay mental health care is the extra steps — getting a referral, waiting for it to be processed, then waiting again for an appointment. Curative removes those steps so you can get support when you need it, not weeks later.
What is the Baseline Visit, and why does it matter for my benefits?
The Baseline Visit is a preventive health appointment that every eligible Curative member should complete within their first 120 days of enrollment. It includes time with a Care Navigator to better understand benefits, as well as a clinical portion with lab work and time with a Curative clinician to review your overall health — including your mental and emotional well-being.
Completing your Baseline Visit is what maintains your $0 benefits across all in-network services. If you haven't had yours yet, scheduling it should be your first step — it's the key that keeps everything else $0.
Think of it as the foundation of your Curative health plan, not just a checkbox.
What kinds of concerns can I get mental health support for?
Mental health support through Curative isn't limited to crisis care or severe diagnoses. You can access support for a wide range of concerns, including:
Anxiety, stress, and worry
Depression or low mood
Burnout and work-related exhaustion
Sleep difficulties
Grief and loss
Relationship challenges (individual or couples therapy)
Family stress or parenting concerns
Substance use and recovery
Medication management for mental health conditions
If something feels off — even if you're not sure what to call it — that's reason enough to reach out. Curative's Care Navigator can help you figure out the right type of support and connect you with the right provider.
You don't have to figure this out alone
Mental health care shouldn't feel like a puzzle to solve before you can get help. With Curative, the path from "I think I need support" to "I have an appointment" is shorter and more affordable than you might expect.
Your benefits are ready to use. The providers are there. And so is the support.
