Curative today announced the acquisition of Wingspan Health, an app that brings your medical records into one place. The acquisition transfers Wingspan’s technology, assets, and team, all coming on the heels of Curative receiving its Certificate of Authority to be a health insurance company in the state of Texas.
With Wingspan, users can easily connect all patient portal accounts to the app and bring their health history together automatically. From major health systems to urgent care to single-doctor practices, users can see their health history in Wingspan from over 1,200 health systems.
“As we expand Curative, one thread that follows is our commitment to exceptional user experience, and Wingspan Health will help us continue to deliver on that promise.,” said Isaac Turner, co-founder and Chief Technology Officer. “We are impressed with how they took on the behemoth of medical record interoperability and proved that it can be integrated and streamlined. Medical data can be opaque and difficult to navigate. By utilizing the Wingspan technology future members will be able to share a comprehensive and integrated picture to everyone on the care team, ultimately improving quality of care, increasing engagement in preventative care, and reducing inefficiencies in the healthcare system.”
Connect All of Your Health Accounts in One Place: The web app automatically pulls records in from your patient portals – whether MyChart or another type of software like Cerner, eClinicalWorks, athenahealth, and others. This lets users see their records in one place, eliminating the need to hop between lots of accounts to see trends or answer questions a new doctor might have for the user.
Visualize Trends Over Time: See vital signs and lab test results understandably with data displays and graphs.
Organize Your Family Medical History: Users can note all the health conditions in their family through a comprehensive questionnaire. Then Wingspan organizes all of that information in a family tree of the family’s health conditions by each person and a pivot table that categorizes their conditions so you can see whether they may increase your risk.
“Wingspan was built out of my personal and professional journey where I saw a profound benefit to seeing medical records all in one place.” said Susanne Fortunato, founder of Wingspan. “Though care can be fragmented across systems and specialties, our health is not. Often the complete picture of someone’s health can’t be understood without all the pieces. Wingspan brings all those pieces together to help identify trends and connections across a person’s health and treatment journey. We’re thrilled to be part of the Curative family to continue and enhance the experience.”
Curative was co-founded by CEO Fred Turner, CTO Isaac Turner and Chief Science Advisor Vlad Slepnev in 2020 in Los Angeles, California, and is powered by a team of world-leading physicians, scientists, engineers, and health industry experts. Curative and its managed medical entities have been critical and a national leader in bringing COVID-19 testing and vaccine-administration resources to bear in response to the pandemic, providing more than 32 million tests and two million vaccines across thousands of locations in over 40 states. Concurrently, Curative has created and launched a first-of-its-kind health insurance plan offering that brings unmatched transparency into healthcare costs. Starting in Texas, Curative is working to remake our healthcare system into one that works for and supports patients’ whole health and well-being through every step of their personal health journey.
