Care Navigators: Here to Keep You Healthy
6 Minutes
Team Curative

We all know that navigating health insurance can feel like a maze. But with Curative, we’ll be your guide. When you join Curative, members get their free Baseline Visit. This is when you’ll meet your Care Navigator, who you can text, call, and email for help throughout your health journey.
Care Navigators are not your doctor and they don’t offer medical advice. What they will do is make sure you make the most of your health plan with Curative and help get the care you need. After your first meeting with your Care Navigator, you’ll know where the nearest urgent care, emergency room, and available primary care providers (PCPs) are.
Care Navigators are here to support you through your health journey by:
Connecting you with the right doctor when you need it
Building preventive care strategies
Guiding you through paperwork, like pharmacy transfers
Providing trustworthy, continuous support
Connect you to the right doctor when you need it
Quality care is essential to your health and well-being. Unfortunately, health plans with confusing coverage or poor member service prevent you from using your benefits to actually receive quality care.
Delaying care can make your health problems worse. A minor injury can escalate causing further stress, pain, and financial worry. For example, a 2023 Kaiser Family Foundation survey found that of the nearly 60 percent of Americans who reported difficulty with their insurance coverage, 15 percent said their health declined as a result.
Whether it’s an urgent health issue or a routine preventive screening, finding care should be the last thing you worry about with your Curative plan.
Care Navigators connect members to various in-network healthcare providers, including high-quality, nearby doctors. They can help register your insurance with a new provider and are happy to make appointments on your behalf.
With the help of your Care Navigator, you can expect the right care at the right time.
Build preventive care strategies
To live a long, healthy, and happy life — the work starts now. But don’t worry, Curative makes it easy. By investing in preventive care from day one, we can reduce the chance of more serious ailments down the line.
Preventive care includes:
Routine health services
Screenings
Regular checkups
Immunizations
Positive lifestyle changes are also important in prevention. Smoking, a poor diet, a lack of physical activity, and drinking alcohol contribute to chronic diseases. At Curative, we offer a range of health management programs, including WeightWatchers, Noom, ClassPass, and H-E-B Wellness Nutrition Services. Your Care Navigator can direct you to programs that can help you feel your best.
Are you interested in learning more about how healthcare works? We call this health literacy. Whenever you don’t understand what is covered under your plan, you can phone a friend: your Care Navigator.
Helping you with paperwork and tasks, like pharmacy transfers
When you’re sick, all you should focus on is getting better.
When you get a prescription, your Care Navigator can help you find which tier your medication falls into. The tiers are:
Tier 1: $0 copay (preferred drugs — 97% of available medications)
Tier 2: $50 copay (non-preferred drugs)
Tier 3: $250 copay (non-preferred drugs)
You can use our preferred drug list (or formulary) to check what is covered at any time. When it comes to prescriptions, 97 percent are covered by Curative’s pharmacy benefits in Tier 1 — meaning most costs are covered.
Care Navigators can also help members in select regions transfer prescriptions at any time to the Curative Pharmacy and even get as-soon-as-same-day delivery to your home. Partner pharmacies like H-E-B, Albertsons, United SM, Amigos, Tom Thumb, Market Street, Randalls, and Publix are also available to fill your prescriptions and provide convenient delivery options.
Not sure if a specific prescription or service is covered? Care Navigators also send prior authorizations to your provider and remind them to complete the form. Prior authorization means doctors must get approval from your insurance plan before prescribing medication or conducting a medical procedure.
Enhance employee health with trustworthy, reliable member support
Let’s be honest — no one likes dealing with poor member service. Your Care Navigator is focused on providing the best experience possible. Care Navigators aren’t your typical member service representative; they’re your partner in health at Curative. Anytime you need something non-urgent your Care Navigator is there to help. For any requests, your Care Navigator will be sure to follow up.
We take health seriously because members deserve a health plan you love to use. Thanks to Care Navigators, you can focus on care, not costs.
